AuditTag

About AuditTag

Built to show what your pages carry, and to say what it cannot see.

AuditTag reads the pages your ads land on, tells you which tracking tags are actually there, and writes the on-page fixes as files you review. It does not log in, and it does not pretend a snippet is a sale.

A website can look completely healthy while the data underneath it is wrong. A theme update removes a tag. An app installs a second copy. A checkout moves. Nothing on the page looks different, so you find out later, in the numbers. AuditTag shows you which tracking tags your pages carry today, and Guardrails tells you when one it has seen goes missing or doubles up. Neither can see an event fire. Only a test order shows that.

Find it. Fix it. Guard it.

The whole product is three steps, and you stay in control of all of them.

  1. 01 · Audit

    See what is installed

A free audit reads your served pages the way a search crawler does and reports which tracking tags are installed, and the on-page issues that affect your search results and shared links.

  2. 02 · Fix

Get the on-page fixes as files

A Fix Pack hands you corrected files and fields for the on-page problems, with every change reviewable before anything ships. It does not fix tracking.

  3. 03 · Guard

Hear when a tag goes missing

Guardrails re-reads the same public pages on a schedule and tells you when a tag it has seen disappears or doubles up. It is in early access.

Founder-led. UK-based.

One person, in the UK. No team and no investors, and that is the reason it works the way it does.

AuditTag is built and run by Sam Parkinson, a developer in the UK. I did not want a tracking tool that reaches into a site and changes things the owner cannot see, so I built one that hands you the files to check for yourself. It does not need access to your CMS. It does not make changes to your website. It does not ask for write access just to run an audit. You see the findings and you decide what happens next. I would rather show you the evidence than ask you to trust a score, so I say plainly what AuditTag can and cannot verify, and where a person still has to review the work. When something goes wrong, the person who reads your email is the person who wrote the code.

Reach me at hello@audittag.com. I reply the same working day, Monday to Friday, UK time. Weekends wait until Monday.

If I am away, hello@audittag.com sends an automatic reply with the date I expect to be back. Free audits keep working. A Fix Pack that passes my automated checks is released after 24 hours even if I have not read it, and the email says so. Anything that needs a person, like a refund, waits for me.

AuditTag at a glance

The plain facts, in one place.

  • AuditTag checks ecommerce websites for missing or doubled tracking tags and for on-page SEO problems. It is for online store owners, marketing leads, and the agencies and analytics consultants who look after their tracking.
  • The free audit reads your public pages and reports which of GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Pixel and legacy Universal Analytics it can detect, plus tracking gaps and on-page SEO issues. No account and nothing installed. It reads the HTML your pages serve, so it shows which tags are installed, not whether a purchase actually fires.
  • A Fix Pack is a one-off zip from £39 with corrected files and fields that you review and apply yourself. It fixes on-page tags and fields, not tracking.
  • Monitoring starts at £69 a month. Guardrails reads your public pages and tells you when a tag it has seen disappears or doubles up. It does not say whether a purchase fired. Early access. I set each site up by hand and only take as many as I can check every Monday. Right now that is 10 sites in total.
  • AuditTag is read-only. It never logs in to your store and never writes to your website.
  • Sam Parkinson, founder and developer, runs AuditTag from the UK. You can email hello@audittag.com.
  • AuditTag, at audittag.com with no s, is not AuditTags. AuditTags (audittags.com) was a separate Shopify tracking audit by another company, and its site has been offline since at least September 2026. More on the difference.
  • The audittag.com domain had an unrelated owner before 2026, who ran an Instagram hashtag tool on it. Old directory listings that describe a hashtag service are about that earlier site, not this one.

You will also find AuditTag on G2, SaaSHub, Trustpilot, Product Hunt and X.

Guides written from the work: tracking audit checklist, GA4 audit, Meta Pixel audit, Google Ads conversion tracking, dataLayer testing, conversion tracking QA, tracking monitoring and Shopify tracking.
